Cover blurb[]
Due to space restrictions within the BBC Archives, many early episodes of Doctor Who taped during the 1960s and 1970s were lost. But an exhaustive search by the BBC Audio Collection led to the discovery of a rare copy of the original sound track, including three Doctor Who episodes.
And now, The Macra Terror is available once again, presented in a stunning dramatization with all the excitement of a theater performance and all the charm of a vintage radio show. Originally conceived for BBC broadcast and produced by the world's foremost creators of radio entertainment, this lavish production combines a full cast with stirring music and sound effects to bring this classic to life.
DR. WHO: The Macra Terror
To all appearances, the colony is an extravagant resort spa. A holiday atmosphere prevails as drum majorettes prance before cheering crowds. But under the pretext of the most advanced restorative treatments, the Colony's inhabitants are subjected to mind control, and late at night, after curfew, terror stalks. Only Medok has resisted the attempts to control him.
As Dr. Who and his companions, Ben, Polly, and Jamie, join the rebel to probe the Colony's darkest secrets, security forces hunt them down. Tracking clues deep into the mines beneath the glittering surface, resisting voices and commands programmed into into their own minds, they are swept into a chilling adventure that brings them face to face with the gnashing claws and gaping maw of The Macra Terror.
