Doctor Who Collectors Wiki

Developed in 1995, DVD has become the standard medium for Doctor Who releases since the late 20th Century. Unlike VHS, DVDs contain digital, rather than analog, video data, and superior audio quality.

DVDs are generally encoded for a specific region only and are not compatible with DVD players from other regions. However, there are exceptions. For example, most United Kingdom releases are encoded Region 2+4, except some released since 2009.

Doctor Who[]

Doctor Who DVDs have been released by 2|entertain and BBC DVD since 1999. With restoration by the Doctor Who Restoration Team and an abundance of special features, they are generally released in the United Kingdom first, with United States, Australian and other releases following.

Produced by Reeltime Pictures Myth Makers are a series of video interviews with the stars of Doctor Who. These DVD releases originally comprised of interviews previously released on video (often two such interviews are bundled together onto one disc), but in recent years this has shifted to being exclusively brand new interviews, which have never before been released. All discs are encoded for Region 2 and 4 plus are all DVD-R discs (i.e. recordable DVDs) so may not be play on all DVD players.
